PASADENA, CA (WAVE) - After donating their son's organs, a Kentucky family will have the opportunity to honor his memory on the other side of the country.
6-year-old Keegan Adkins accidentally drowned at the Woodhaven Country Club in 2011. Kosair Children's Hospital attempted to save the young boy's life, but he was pronounced brain dead. Keegan's parents, Scott and Shannon Adkins, made the decision to donate his organs.
Because of their decision to help others, the family was chosen to represent the Donate for Life Parade Float at the Rose Bowl Parade. Scott and Shannon spent the weekend in Pasadena where they created a floragraph of Keegan's image along with other families chosen by the organization.
