Honoring his son's legacy, Pastor Steve Berger along with Donate Life America will be a part of the Light up the World float in the 2014 Rose Parade on January 1st.
Those who were closest to Josiah Berger describe him as a friend, loving son, and incredible brother to his three siblings.
"He really took it very, very seriously, to live his life here on this side, to encourage people," said Josiah's mother, Sarah Berger.
In August 2009, one day before Josiah was supposed to go to college, tragedy struck.
"He kissed Sarah on the cheek and drove down the road. About 15 or 20 minutes later, the accident happened," said Steve Berger, Josiah's father.
Berger was involved in a single car wreck. Three days later, on what would have been his 19th birthday, he passed away.
In the darkest days, a ray of light came to the grieving family. Unbeknownst to his parents, Josiah signed up to be an organ donor.
