SAN DIEGO - A young Solana Beach girl will be honored during this year's Rose Parade in Pasadena for her organ donation.
India Phillips was the kind of little girl who would give away her newest toy just to make a new friend. It is a way of living that helped save a life when India lost her own.
"It was never really a doubt for us when they asked us if we would consider donating her organs, because it was possible," said Jeff Phillips, India's father. "We knew she would say yes, and want to help somebody else."
India's parents lost their daughter two years ago after a bacterial infection took India's young life in just 36 hours. She gave a kidney that day.
