Mahwah - The final piece of a late township firefighter's portrait, which will be on the 14th float in the Rose Parade on New Year's Day, was put into place by his wife last week.
Despite the heavy snow falling midday on Tuesday, Dec. 17, a group of 50 friends, family members and firefighters kept warm in the main lounge on the second floor of Fire Company 1 at 100 Miller Road.
They gathered around Pamela Drozd, widow of Mike, a township firefighter who died five years ago, as she carefully placed coffee grinds on his portrait in the area depicting his eyebrows.
