
PALM COAST — She always remembers his eyes.
They seem to jump out of a photograph, Lyn Peter says, the piercing blue following her as she walks across the room.
When Lyn’s husband, Jonathan, died in January at the age of 56, lung cancer had ravished him, but he gave the only part of his body he could — his corneas.
Now, his portrait will be one of 81 that will grace Donate Life’s float in the Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif., on New Year’s Day.
Lyn finished the image — called a floragraph because it’s made entirely out of seeds — during a ceremony recently at Florida Hospital Flagler, while trying to fight back tears. In the image, Jonathan peered out from underneath a black hat.
