Renee Wininger gave the ultimate gift this holiday season - the gift of a normal life to a man she's never met.
Last month the 48-year-old Wininger underwent a three-hour procedure at UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison. A surgical team removed her left kidney, which then was transplanted into a stranger.
"I'd do it all over again in a minute," Wininger said three weeks after her Nov. 12 surgery. "How often do you get the chance to save a life?"
