MONROE, NC (WBTV) -
Mason Honeycutt looks like any other 18-month old. During the day he plays outside and runs around with his older brother Wyatt.
But at night, little Mason is hooked up to a dialysis machine. His kidneys – both of them – don't work. They haven't since birth.
"We knew when he went on dialysis that we had to have a transplant," says Mason's mom Erin Honeycutt. "That was just the reality of it."
The Honeycutt family has had to wait for Mason to weigh enough to be eligible for a kidney transplant. At 18 months old, he has finally hit that mark.
