Photo: James Nix Ronnie and Robyne Arrington, at left, with Bob Cole. Robyne's son, Daniel Sossoman, was an organ donor, and Cole received his heart after his death. Cole taught history and coached swimming at Concord High School.
“I want to, one, commend a brave man, and two, bring to the consciousness of the community here in Cabarrus County … that if you’re not a donor now, that they should dig way deep inside of them and understand that this is a heroic thing to do,” he said.
A life was given, or in a way, continued, in him. And a mother who lost two sons also is thankful, because her son’s heart is still beating.
THE GIFT OF LIFE
Cole, 68, taught U.S. history at Concord High School and helped coach football and swimming during the ’90s and early 2000s.
