BRAVE Xavier Delcambre, 6, from Cheshunt, was also recognised for his incredible courage, having suffered from kidney failure since he was born.
In January 2011 he received a kidney transplant, but the following year his body rejected the organ and it had to be removed.
Now he has to undergo three hours of dialysis at home four times a week – thanks to mum Tracy who has undergone special training to be able to perform the procedure – as well as having to spend long stints in hospital.
The youngster has also been diagnosed with mild liver failure, and due to a series of infections he has not been able to be placed back on the transplant list for a new kidney.
