Plainfield 8-year-old Katie Jenks has become a bit of a celebrity of late, showing up in online videos and even a magazine cover.
Katie has become one of the faces of the Illinois Eye Bank, appearing in media on behalf of the group, an organization dedicated to preserving and restoring sight by helping to connect donors with recipients as well as funding research.
Katie is featured in the eye bank's "Eye for an I" video, where she sports her Plainfield Soccer Association jersey and cavorts on the field, taking in the world around here via the corneas of an organ donor.
