A North Pitt High School student took top honors at an art show dedicated to spreading awareness about the importance of organ donation during a reception Tuesday at The Art Room on Evans Street in Greenville.
Jessie Lerma won $175 for her project, “The Organ Tree of Life,” a colored pencil drawing of a tree growing through a human heart. She also will be a judge in the 2014 contest.
