Two new dads in failing health need a gift from a stranger that is hard to find in Hamilton — even in the season of giving.
Arie Pekar and Adam Kingz both have baby boys to raise, but each needs an organ transplant to live long enough to see their sons grow up.
Kingz has lost about 85 per cent of his lung function and is on the waiting list for his second double lung transplant.
"Every day I wake up and think, 'I can't wait,'" said the 28-year-old from Beamsville. "My phone is always charged with the volume up as loud as it can go. Every time it rings, it's, 'What if…?'"
