
A Fort Collins baby awaiting a liver transplant at Children’s Hospital in Aurora died Friday afternoon.
Riley Harness, who celebrated his first birthday Nov. 28, died at 3:41 p.m. Friday due to complications from End Stage Liver Disease.
“He was surrounded by his family and so much love,” said a post on the boy’s COTA (Children’s Organ Transplant Association) page. “His family appreciates your continued support during their heartbreaking loss.”
The little boy, son of Chris and Stephanie Harness of Fort Collins, had been airlifted to Children’s Hospital in mid-September after showing symptoms of the disease and was placed on the transplant list at that time. The family was featured in a Coloradoan article and video Nov. 4.
