This year, I have covered the survival stories of several transplant recipients. While making it to the transplant list and receiving the organ is certainly monumental, is not end of all worries for the recipients.
On Monday, I spoke with two kidney tranplant recipients who have struggled to make the most of their second chance at life.
One is Zion Grove resident Vickie Dash, a two-time kidney transplant recipient who has documented her struggles with kidney disease through a series of artistic collages. The other, Larry Rafes, an Allentown salesman who received a kidney transplant three years ago.
