
During the wicked winter weather that slammed Texas in December doctors did the unbelievable by navigating the ground and air to save two lives with an organ transplant.
"We were actually flipping a coin on whether we were going to make it back," said Dr. Gonzo Gonzalez, Heart Surgeon with Baylor Medical Center.
The Baylor heart surgeon documented his treacherous trip both on the ground and in the sky to pick up and transplant a heart within five hours, not once but twice over the weekend. Transplants have become common surgeries but when the weather is icy the procedure is dicey.
