HARLINGEN — More than 25 names and faces are featured on the Wall of Heroes at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
They are just a small percentage of people from the Rio Grande Valley who have donated their organs or tissue to save lives.
Donor Abigail V — her last name is not on the plaque — was just a baby when her parents made the selfless decision to donate her organs in 2005.
Whenever people donate their organs, they are added to the Wall of Heroes to honor their memory and to deem them heroes for life.
On Friday, Valley Baptist held an advance registration for participants for an upcoming event called “Donate Life Texas Walk,” to be held next week by VBMC at the Harlingen High School South football field.
