
Arnold Mill Elementary student Phillip Bronco Reese, 7, currently is waiting for a heart transplant. The bright-eyed Woodstock boy is described by many as the epitome of strength as he battles for his life.
As children begin to prepare their holiday gift lists, one Arnold Mill Elementary student is asking for the gift of life. Phillip Bronco Reese, who is known as just Bronco to his friends, was born with four congenital heart defects and is in need of a heart transplant.
The nature of such a procedure, however, means that another family must face a tragedy — an unfortunate loss that could save the local 7-year-old’s life and in turn make his survival the donor’s legacy.
Bronco, son of Scott and Joanna Reese, was born Jan. 12, 2006, with four congenital heart defects, which, according to the American Heart Association, result when the heart or blood vessels near the heart don’t develop normally before birth.
