Organ donors gave these people new life - and the chance to celebrate another Christmas
Christmas is a time, as Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney sing in the movie classic White Christmas, to "count our blessings instead of sheep."
Among the most grateful have to be those who received a gift that no amount of money could buy.
Three organ recipients in the Metro Vancouver area are looking forward to a healthy and happy Christmas this year, thanks to the generosity of organ donors.
At this time last year, North Vancouver teenager Andrew Westerlund and his parents had just received the devastating news that his stomach-ache and lack of energy was a lot more serious than they could have imagined and that only a new heart could save him.
