
51-YEAR-OLD Brian Keeley, from Aberdeen, needed emergency operations for a major blockage in the main artery of his heart at Clydebank's Golden Jubilee National Hospital and stressed the importance of organ donation.
A HEART transplant patient who married his girlfriend in intensive care has thanked the “absolutely amazing” hospital staff after he finally got to go home.
Brian Keeley, 51, needed emergency operations for a major blockage in the main artery of his heart.
Specialists at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank who treated him said the condition was so serious it was usually fatal.
At one point, Brian, an artist who lives in Aberdeen, went into cardiac arrest as surgeons operated on him.
Later, as his condition worsened, he needed to be placed on a device which acts as a mechanical heart.
